Metallica’s Doobie Brothers tour canceled over safety concerns
METALLICA is canceling its July 11 tour due to safety concerns.
The band has already cancelled shows in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
Its tour of Australia, which has a capacity of more than 70,000, has also been cancelled.METALLICA will not return to the U.S. for the first time since 2015.
It has not yet released a statement on the cancellation.
The cancellation of the Doobies’ tour comes after Metallica canceled the first tour of its career last month.
In May, the band announced that it would not tour the United States this year.
The news comes as Metallica has been hit by a string of injuries in recent months, including one that left the group with a torn ACL in his left knee.
The band was scheduled to play two shows in New York City in early July.METALICA will continue to perform its new album, “The Human Afterimage,” through June 22 at the Bowery Ballroom in Brooklyn, N.Y. The live album, which will be released in July, is due for release on August 4.
