The Eagles have been in contact with David Beckham’s representatives and are considering the possibility of signing him as their new coach, according to reports.
The news comes after the club signed Paul Pogba from Manchester United and a new coach will have to fill the vacancy caused by the retirement of Steve McClaren.
The Eagles are looking to replace McClaren with Steve Walsh, a former West Bromwich Albion manager, who had been tipped to take over from McClaren, and are currently looking at several options for the position.
They are also monitoring the situation with Leicester City and are waiting to hear back from the English Premier League club over the appointment of former West Ham and Norwich City boss Steve Clarke as their first-team coach.
They will also be monitoring the fate of England Under-21 coach Gary Rowett, who will also have to wait to be confirmed as his successor.
The appointment of Walsh would give the Eagles a new head coach in the same vein as former Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew, who was sacked last month.
Papiss Cisse has already been linked with the job, while former Manchester United player and Arsenal striker Yaya Touré is also on their radar.
Former Barcelona midfielder and current Bayern Munich boss Jupp Heynckes also has a history of taking over from his predecessor and is currently at the helm at Bayern Munich.
